Life is hard lately folks. I’ll have much more to say on the subject once I’ve processed a bit more. Because despite what has been, to put it mildly, a rough week, we are going to participate in thankful Thursday. Choosing to find the good, the holy and the true in our corner of the world.
Thankful for alternative medicine doctors that know when to let someone else step in. On Tuesday night my brother left his physical therapist’s office to get an mri and end up with emergency spinal surgery. Years ago, my friend was seeing a Chiropractor and he made her go get a ct scan, discovering that she needed spinal surgery. I adore people that say, it’s too much, it’s too big, let’s call in a bigger team, let’s call in reinforcements.
On that note, super thankful for the amazing surgical team that kept my brother alive and did crazy impossible things like replace vertebra. Modern medicine is insane.
Today I’m thankful for endless rounds of hot water and baths.
I’m thankful for Tylenol.
Thankful for friends and family that offer condolences and prayers,to sit in your pain with you and even take your child away for a moment of rest.
I’m thankful for that super challenging little boy that I love so very much I can hardly handle how much my heart holds.
More than anything, I am crazy crazy thankful for the man that has chosen to stand by me for the the rest of our lives. He has rushed away from a very fun work trip, taken care of our son and sat with me through one of the most physically and emotionally painful things we have ever had to go through. He has been a rock and known exactly what to say and exactly what to do, somehow knowing when to be close and when to give me space; pushing aside his own grief and pain to allow me to fall apart.
We are practicing thankfulness and faith in an incredible God that holds us in our pain and celebrates in our joy. Thank you for taking the time to join us on this journey.
